Are the tiger, the horse and the monkey all on the same mission?

Vicki Sauvage - Sunday, June 27, 2010
Good morning everyone. How did you go with the full moon and the grand cross and the partial lunar eclipse? For those who do not have the most magnificent planting calendar ever I will quote from Brian Keats. 'Regular ice-works [in the southern hemisphere] ... but the real cold blast will come 25th - 27th with the Lunar Eclipse'. The partial lunar eclipse started at 18:56 (the Penumbral Stage), Sydney time and the Central stage at 21.39 with the end Penumbral 0:21hours.' If you were affected in an unusual way yesterday then you now know why.

Let us look at the energies according to the Chinese system of 4 pillars / feng shui.

Today we have yang earth sitting over the monkey. The monkey is yang metal. Both the seen world and the unseen world are entering a contracting phase. Earth produces the metal. So we have moved away from the controlling phase we were in a few weeks ago and are now in the productive phase. We have the earth of the day, producing the metal of the year, producing the water of the month. Water is therefore visibly strong.

We look to the branches, to the hidden aspects of qi and see that this is a rather different story. The tiger and the horse are good friends, they are so busy talking to each other they barely notice the monkey who has come along to play. Monkey and tiger are not good friends. Monkey is too playful for serious tiger who likes to move through the jungle on a mission, always alert. The monkey talks too much for the tiger, chatter, chatter, chatter. If you are a tiger, a monkey or a snake, then today, being a traveling day is something to be aware of. 3 travelers - but which ones are on a mission!

Today, the monkey and tomorrow the rooster are in void. This means that we should not plan auspicious things for those days. Birthday parties, weddings, christenings, parties, festivities of all kinds and opening of your business or art exhibition is just not recommended. If these things must take place then try to choose an auspicious hour to counter the effects of the day.

The hexagram of the day is Kun over Kun. The hexagram is Kun - Responding. Alfred Huang says .. 'The significance of Kun is to explore the social phenomena, the Tao of Humanity. ... Responsiveness, flexibility, devotion and humility are its feminine qualities. .. This picture presents an image of the purest yin, the most responsive, flexible, devoted, and humble qualities.'

Your challenge today is to look within, on this the day of rest, examine what you do to express your devotional energies. Do you pray, do you meditate, do you reflect. Do you bow your head when you meet another (I bow my head may my Buddha nature greet your Buddha nature). All these things are often regarded as superseded in Western Culture, but devotion and the devotional are vital aspects of human functioning in Eastern practices.
