Cultivate joy

Vicki Sauvage - Saturday, July 10, 2010
Today we have yin metal sitting over the rooster which is yin metal. Metal represents the mouth, the voice, speaking and singing.

We have yin metal quite strong, not really being modified or contained by any other element. There is not much wood (wealth), the fire is quite weak (power), but the yin earth which is resource is strong enough to support the metal. So we have a strong day master. The horse hour the sheep is in ecstasy because his special friend is back thus making a strong yuan of fire and fire is resource to the yin metal day master.

It is really a mild day with not too much of anything. There is potential for conflict between men and women - remember wisdom and draw that down today. Preferably it should be our constant companion.

If you are a yin fire day master this day is made for you! There is strong environmental power for you to be effect, there is only modest resource so make sure your chart has strong resource, or get that from others. It is a really powerful day for you to be making money, having business meetings etc. There are opportunities for you to advance your career and your community standing - make sure it is built on a strong foundation and you are not using smoke and mirrors - they are eventually seen for what they are!

Today's hexagram is Dui over Dui, which according to Alfred Huang is Dui - Joyful. He has a very beautiful description of the associated ideogram. 'When one is gentle and joyful and has inner strength, one is easily accepted in any situation.'

Your challenge today is to cultivate the inner joy, the inner strength and serenity. It is then that we are able to accept any situation and transform it.
