Tues 21st Feb 2012: yang water rat - overwhelm of water

The emperor is yang water.

He is surrounded by his mates - all looking and acting the same as him.

His lieutenant the rat combines with the dragon to form water - wow - overwhelm.

If you do not like water then avoid fishing or swimming today - they are not auspicious activities. Not many people can cope with that amount of water. Make sure that you stay warm, that you nurture your liver and gallbladder and, if you have weak fire ensure that you stay calm and do not erupt (the best course of action anyway).

Wed 22nd Feb: yin water ox

The emperor is yin water.

The energy is very cold. In the northern hemisphere you can expect ice and other water related events.

The flow is still to water but the yin water has two competitors.

The stems are mostly earth but the earth is different polarities. The wood in the tiger can draw off some of the excess water but the water is pretty overwhelming.

The way to deal with competition is to give the competitors something to do. Kind of like quarreling children - give them a task that brings them together and they start to act positively. The answer here is in strengthening wood.

Wood related things are - planting trees, being amongst trees, cultivating the land and one's mind. Don't get caught in the right or wrong of things. Wood is damaged by getting on one's high horse about justice and injustice - things play out with or without our championing them.

The flow is to the emperor - with support from the tigers the emperor is very strong. He cannot be assailed.

A child born today will be VERY strong minded - will be rebellious and an extremely independent thinker. At their worst they will be self centred, always complaining about justice and injustice. At their best they will become wonderful lawyers and judges - always concerned with the equity of things and balancing their thoughts and actions. They will suffer a little from the cold and may need to keep warm as their internal fire may be weak. This depends on what sits in their time pillar.

Today is regarded as a void day as it clashes with the energy of the month.

The flow is to wood - the rabbit, tiger and dragon form the full season of wood.

The is still a very cold chart with only a little hidden fire in the tiger - it is a dull day with lots of moisture making the roots of the trees and the crops too damp.

We need to find some fire to brighten the energy. The snake and the horse hours will bring some fire - you need to bring your own inner fire to the fore. It is a day for action, for driving forward with the momentum of growth and right action.

The flow is to earth - but the fire is strong enough to light our lives.

Earth nurtures the spleen and the stomach - if you eat correctly, in the right time then the earth is nurtured and the spleen, so essential in Chinese Medicine to most physiological processes.They are the centre. They are the source of Qi and blood and as such they nourish all other organs.

Sun 26th Feb: yin fire snake - travel alert

The emperor is yin fire.

The fire and the water would like to combine to form wood - and with the tiger being the head of spring the transformation is possible. As there is a second water in the mix there is a fight to combine - this is not auspicious. 

The snake now leads the transformation charge - he can draw off the wood and become the focus of the flow. The emperor surrenders to fire.

In addition the snake clashes with the tiger - so there has to be a travel alert today. This means that people are likely to be speeding and create danger for others on the road - you be safe by traveling with awareness (the way we should always be on the road).

Tues 14th Feb 2012: yin wood snake

The emperor is yin wood.

Ignoring the double hours - the flow is from resource to the emperor today.

The lesson is about competition, and when something comes along to drain your competitors it means you are able to make use of the universal flow of water to help you progress your plans - so long as this is useful to you.

In the hour of the rabbit the story is very different as suddenly the emperor is very strong, the competitor is taken away as it teams up with the emperor to form the strong season of wood. All are drawn up into the arms of the emperor.

Can you use it - ah that is the question. The lesson is about the liver and gallbladder and keeping the emotions in check. When anger and resentment rule us we lack wisdom, decisions made in the absence of wisdom are flawed.

Wed 15th Feb: yang fire horse

The flow is fire as the tiger and the horse combine to form fire and are bright in the season of wood.

The emperor is reasonably strong, except for the dragon - the dragon draws all of the force or flow from the emperor.

If you need prosperous fire, you might find you personal qi dropping if you are not aware of the universal flow. Guard against the emotional excesses of fire and earth. Manage your personal qi flow. Take up Tai Qi and Qi Gong practices. Learn to meditate. Join me in the Park to learn these skills which will sustain you through your daily life.

The emperor is yin fire.

The flow is very changeable today. It is definitely going to be heavily impacted by the double hours.

The hour of the fire sheep (1300 - 1500) will be very significant. If you don't like wood then take a siesta at this time, making sure that you do not leave the back of your neck exposed.

There is a very strong trend to wood (with lots of energy tied up in the stems). Again, in the hour of the rabbit (o300 - 0500) there will be another strong trend, and again in the hour of the pig (2100 - 2300).

Wood is about birth, about re-birth and about great and righteous action(s).

The flow is to water. The monkey and the dragon are members of a secret cabal of water.

Earth controls water - the trend is definitely a weak emperor who is unable to control his wealth. He needs to  fully surrender (needing the presence of metal) to benefit from the wealth in the universal energy flows today.

Just because you have some or a lot of wealth in your chart it does not mean that you can use it - it might just slip through your fingers constantly. There is great strength in surrender. I am developing a series of articles for the 2012 bi-monthly newsletters which will highlight some of the emotional connections between the I Ching, The Tao De Ching and Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology.

Sat 18th Feb: yin earth rooster

When a pillar is replicated it is considered a time for reflection and for planning rather than action. If one of the pillars in your own chart match this then it is doubly important to stop still for 24 hours and watch the pattern unfolding.

When the water phase is not controlled then people will find themselves swept away by their emotions. If you find overwhelm in your life today - take yourself back to your centre - to calm your heart and your mind. Take as much time as you need to come back into your own wisdom.

Sun 19th Feb: yang metal dog - void day

There is a clash between the dog and the annual energy of the dragon. Watch out if your front door faces the direction of the dragon. The direction of the dog is also under pressure today. In addition it is the mid-point of the month.

The flow is to water. The emperor yields to the strength of the water.

The dog and the tiger combine to form fire, but, despite the season being supportive of the fire the flow extinguishes the fire.

There is metaphoric steam in the air. Be assured you will NOT be able to read the true energy of the day. Therefore - reflect carefully on your actions. Sometimes it is useful to phone a friend, get a second opinion. However it is important not to phone many friends. We can get overwhelmed when we get contradictory advice. Don't forget to phone home too - there is much collective wisdom to be gained from our intimate relationships.

The pig and the tiger combine to form wood.The metal of the emperor flows out to support the water.

The emperor is feeble. He completely surrenders to the dominant energy of the water.

The wood that the pig and the tiger form is relatively strong but, is pretty much weakened by the amount of water around.

The flow is to resource for the emperor as the fire team are present in the tiger and the dog and the season is wood to support them.

All the stems and branches are yang - it will be a vibrant day. It will be a full moon so things will be bright and shiny in the light of the moon.

If you like both earth or fire then today is your day - you can shine brightly and be supported. Care should be taken to ensure that the brightness of your shine does not put others in the dark though.

The water can support the wood so the flow is to water but away from the emperor.

The tiger is notorious for speed freaks - so, with two on the lam - watch that accelerator foot it can lead you to difficulties.

Metal gives up its energy to nurture the one down line from him - the water. Water is strong. The dragon and ox are earth and can nurture metal. Stalemate.

I child born today is likely to be rebellious - finding it difficult to get support from others - even though it is promised it is often not delivered. I have met people like this and they are very confused by the universe. Sometimes it is useful to make our own hardship - knowingly do something which will stretch yourself can be exactly what the universe wants.

The flow is to wood. The full seasonal combination of wood is present and fully accounted for.

The wood is able to take the flow of all the water - bring it on - kind of like a mangrove forest - able to withstand all sorts of water in all sorts of conditions.

The lesson is still about water, emotional states and the deep creative well within us all.

The emperor is yang wood.

The dragon could be wood, he could be water and he could be his original nature of earth. It really depends on the double hours which way he will go.

The flow is from water to wood in the tiger. The two dragons when they are being earth will provide wealth to the yang wood emperor. If they decide to be wood then wood is strong and the emperor has a great team playing with him.

This is the kind of day where your energy will be a great determinant in the flow factor and what you experience. Indeed we always have the potential to be masters of our own destiny - we sometimes forget and try to push and shove. Flowing along the path of Tao is the key.

It could bring relationships under pressure - and it will be from what people say rather than what they don't say. Reflect carefully before you speak - you might not express what is in your heart but what is in your bile.

The flow is to water. The emperor is controlled by power - it is very very strong and will result in frustration for those who do not like being controlled. Impose your own restrictions and you will transcend and learn the lesson.

The monkey and the tiger clash but the monkey prefers to hang out with the dragon thus relieving the pressure.

Fire and water clash creating steam. We will not be able to see the real picture so even more important to observe the void. Another do nothing day.

He yields completely by combining with the yang water sitting next to him to form wood.

The flow to wood is the most bright and so attention goes to wood which in turn nourishes the emperor. A complex situation and a child born today will be mercurial - tricky to get it right with this child. Get help and use Chinese herbs and acupressure to assist the child. As they grow you will need to help nourish his or her mind and help them make decisions for themselves.

There is a challenge to his power so if you are a yin fire person then learn to yield as the energy of the day will bring some challenges if you do not know how to do this. There is great strength in yielding.

If your work takes you on the road then watch your speed - if the pig happens to be your travel sign you might find yourself distracted by the freedom of cruising along the highway.

If you are well resourced, if your life is relatively easy then give to others - time is always a good resource to donate to good causes.

There is great power in yielding, knowing exactly when to give ground is the essence of statesmanship.

The snake is a travel sign - so caution on the road particularly because of the flow and the strength of the emperor.

The way to deal with rivalry is to be doing good for others with no thought of personal reward. It is akin to flowing out like a mother who nurtures her children with no thought of personal return. It can be very difficult to truly nurture this in our hearts. We need to cultivate an awareness of what is actually in our hearts so we can see more clearly what is there.

The flow is to definitely to the emperor with all three stems supporting him. The next strongest energy is wood and wood is wealth to the metal emperor.

The emperor is weak because he is trying to control the wood.

There is a loss to self when we are in pursuit of wealth, riches and rewards. How do you handle this energy. Do you lose yourself in your ambition? Are you always trying to control the flow of events around you to benefit your personal objectives and agenda?

This is regarded as a clash day and it is not advocated that important events take place today.

The flow is from metal to water.

The emperor is fairly strong but there is a lot of revolution sitting beneath the surface.

The rabbit and the rooster clash with lots of noise and fury. They are both romance stars so it could mean that your partnerships could come under pressure. If you notice yourself arguing and quarreling with loved ones then say - stop enough - this is not about us this is the universal energy and I am stepping out of the situation.

When a person is weak they can ask for a get support, when they are excessively strong no-one can find a place to support them.

The emperor is therefore in the flow and all is well. 

Yin metal is strong and would like to control the flow BUT the season supports the wood nurturing it. This means that power is visible but the emperor is not willing to give in to the power.

The flow towards output or nurturing of others is a fabulous trend. Some of us are naturally very good at doing this and others of us need to learn how to make sacrifices of our selves. We can tend to be too self focused particularly those of you who have dominant charts - learning to truly give without attachment is the key.

The emperor is strong,He has managed to recruit all the metal and the water to support his ends.

There is an attempt at subversion going on between the rat and the ox but it comes to nothing because of the rabbit. He is in his dying hours but still has a little oomph left in him.

Here in the southern hemisphere it is a little easier to feel the movement in the universal qi flows as we are in the full flight of summer when it is easier to maintain optimism and to feel the power of the sun warming our bones and for most of us our hearts.

We are heading to the change of the month tomorrow morning at 06:41hrs - be prepared.

The flow is tricky! Lots of potentials which are unrealisable except in certain hours.

Traditionally when we change months we would consider it a void day and advocate not doing special things on this day. I would reinforce that choice.

Good day for reading, writing, planning and generally doing little or nothing.

This is the last month of the rabbit year and we will see the rabbit's influence fading and the energy of the dragon starting to rise up.

The flow is from wood through to metal. The rabbits give to the day master, who gives to offspring who gives to wealth.

If your chart supports this flow, and you can handle wealth then it is a good day for making wealth creation plans and actioning your plans. Do you make plans for your career advancement? Do you visialise regularly? Are you able to put into action your plans or do they always remain in the virtual realm? Sometimes getting coaching around these things can be really helpful.

The flow is VERY powerfully to metal as the ox and snake combine to form a very powerful, well supported metal team.

If you have a rooster in your chart and it is important to you then you will feel as though there is some sort of universal current running through you today. We refer not just to your natal chart but to your luck pillars. sometimes we are just waiting for the right flow to be established. It, will however be very difficult to take a break from this flow. For those of us whe do not like yin metal please make sure you don't use knives or very sharp implements and DON'T plan surgery for today.

Consider your relationship to power. How do you express it? What do you do when others are more powerful than you. What do you do when people are 'weaker' than you. Power is not a dirty word. It enables us to guide and mentor others when wielded wisely. It is always important to understand that we will always be in positions of influencing others. When we bring wisdom to bear on power that is where true leadership starts and ends.

Set an aspiration now to find and nurture wisdom within.

There are 3 romance stars present so the emphasis is on romance, the engagement of the public. I have noticed something related to this and famous movie directors - I will explore it more and talk to you about it some time in the future.

Initially it looks like the emperor is strong, surrounded by all his mates BUT the monkey and the rat combine to form water and therefore the emperor yields.

The cosmic energies interact with us in predictable ways. There are the seasons, the year, the month the day, the hour  - all are governed by the cosmic interplay of the 5 elements (with two spins - yin and yang). These energies bring certain qualities, resources and challenges - how we fare depends on our personal interpretation and practices.

How we deal with rivalry is important - I personally chose not to treat others as rivals - merely potential allies, colleagues or partners.

There are 3 romance stars present but two of them are in clash. This leaves the rat as the clear winner.

Spend today thinking about the meaning of romance and inter-connectedness. The romance stars are not just about inter-personal intimate relationship but how 'engaging' you are with the public. Do you enter in alliances or do you want to stand out. Do you willingly 'serve' the public or are you wanting the public to serve you?

There is a very weak flow to fire but it is insubstantial and therefore neutralised.The major flow is with the emperor - metal is king today.

Today you can reflect on the nature of the metal meridians. The qi flow is strongly metal so the lung and to a greater extent the large intestine meridian is in the spotlight.

According the Hammer the metal phase is about the expansion and transformation of the personal bond to significant others and to society at large. 'Lung energies give us our most immediate' relationship with the world - we breath in, we breath out, others breath out and then they breath in.

Metal is also about authority and our relationship with it.

The energy is with wood and wood is about justice and the liver and gall bladder.

If you are feeling that you need to wield the sword of St Michael then consider on whose behalf you are feeling indignant and righteous? Is this a constant state for you. Are you regularly roused to great passion on behalf of others? Do you leave anything for yourself. Is your passion for others a way of not looking at your own needs. Does it take you away from an inner state of connectedness? We are looking for tracking where you lose energy and then how to rectify it.

If you know of a child born today then it is likely they will  be inherently scared of water. They are likely to suffer a lot from dampness and will hate cold, damp air. Their lungs and large intestine will be under pressure as too the fire meridians. They will need to be kept warm but not too cossetted as they will not like the accumulation of fire under the damp.

This emperor knows how to draw the best from those around them. He / She is on their own path, they are usually courageous but can lack wisdom - they need to draw on the wisdom of metal to help them stop chopping their own path in the jungle when there is a well worn path just meters away.
