How many properties to invest in?

The Tasmanian property market is skewed in favour of investors.  The rental market is buoyant and returns on investment can be more than reasonable.  Tasmania is an ideal location to invest in property, thinking about building a balanced portfolio is a very prudent action.

What is your preferred location?

There are different zones in Tasmania.

  • Southern Tasmania which includes Hobart and surrounding districts.
  • Northern Tasmania which includes Launceston and surrounding districts.
  • North Eastern Tasmania which includes Bicheno and Coles Bay.
  • North Western Tasmania which includes Devonport, Burnie and Ulverstone.
  • Western Tasmania which includes Queenstown and Strahan.
  • Central Tasmania which includes Oatlands, Bothwell and Campbell Town.

Please take a moment to survey a map and work out which area you want to invest in.; My suggestion is to concentrate on the two main centres - Hobart and Launceston. As employment opportunities diminish in the outlying areas it is not always going to be a useful decision to invest based on capital cost. You should make your decisions based on purely economic decisions but that should include return on investment.
